 Salem High School Class of 1959 - Latest News 07-28-2023 - Passing of Classmate Doris Martin We have learned that classmate Dorinda "Doris" Martin passed away on July 19, 2008, in Tallmadge, Ohio. Dorinda was the name used on the ship's passenger list when Doris immigrated to the United states at the age of 12 in 1951. Interestingly, Dorinda was also the name used for Doris on our Commencement List. We were led to finding the death of Doris thru a July 20, 2008, Akron Beacon Journal obituary for a Dorinda Martin. Eventually we were able to speak with the wife of Doris' cousin, Nunzio DiSanza, who confirmed that the Akron Beacon Journal obituary was for our classmate Doris Martin. Below is the obituary information from the Beacon Journal. Since the Beacon Journal says little about Doris, we put together a little biography of what we learned as we researched her passing.
