 Salem High School Class of 1959 - Latest News 02-22-2013 - Death of Classmate Marie Somerville Barnhill We just leanrd of the passing of our Classmate Marie Somerville Barnhill in December of 2011. Marie E. Barnhill (1941 - 2011) Obituary Marie E. Barnhill, age 70, of Baker, went to meet her Savior on Saturday, Dec. 17. She was born on June 3, 1941 in Salem, Ohio and had lived in Baker since 1983. She retired from the Okaloosa County School Board and was a member of The Chapel in Crestview. A spiritual woman, she enjoyed writing poetry and loved animals, especially her kitty, Sassy. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earl Barnhill. Survivors include her children: Lisa Mays and Donovan Walker; three grandchildren: Shannon M. Walker, Kyrstin L. Mays and Aubrey A. Mays; two sisters: Edie Coalmer and Joyce Vance; and other relatives in Ohio. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 20, from the Chapel of Brackney Funeral Service with Pastor Chuck Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Pyron Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
