 Salem High School Class of 1959 - Latest News 01-15-2014 - Update on Karen Klein Whelan God is gracious! Mom wanted you all to know that she is safely home and recovering from her "little" trip to the hospital over the Christmas holiday. She is recovering and getting stronger each day. She will stay off any chemo treatment at this point until her body is stronger. This could be anywhere from 2-4 weeks. The doctors are keeping an eye on her kidney function,making sure the levels remain acceptable. The doctors also confirmed that mom did indeed have a heart attack, though it was considered minor in the world of heart attacks.
