03-25-2014 - Update on Karen Klein Whelan
Below is an e-nail received from Karen and Skip Whelan:
Dear Family and Friends,
You all are a blessing to us and we have appreciated all the prayers you have offered to our Lord.
Karen's catscan a week ago showed a slight reduction in her lung tumor, and there has not been an increase in the nodules. All this is great news, especially since she has not been on chemo for over three months. She will not have to be on chemo until her next catscan in 3-4 months and only taking a pill every other day. Maybe that's the pill that has been containing the cancer!!
Also, her visit to the kidney doctor and from the tests showed to be working great. Still have to be on a low sodium diet.
Her feet are still numb with neuropathy causing a small balance problem. Walking and exercises are put in the schedule. She does use a cain and walker at times to prevent a fall.
We're celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary soon. We were never suppose to make it this far but God has been supporting us and carrying us according to the poem "Footprints in the Sand."
